SEOUL, Sept. 1 (Yonhap) -- A beleaguered minor opposition party on Sunday accused the top spy agency of hiring an "assistant" to conduct surveillance on its officials, as nearly a dozen members of the party remained under suspicions of plotting to overthrow the government.
At a press conference, Rep. Lee Sang-gyu of the Unified Progressive Party (UPP) claimed that the National Intelligence Service (NIS) paid an individual "a great amount of money" to survey the leftist party for years.
